We were funded!
Our proposal to research how we can better interface ‘user-centred’ design and science methods with participation and co-design methods, or simply Project Spacious, was funded by the Region Île de France and the Chaires SHS (sciences humaines et sociales).
The project essentially weaves our joint expertise:
a) on the study of human behaviour in buildings and cities – through the methodologies of spatial cognition research – which has been my own (Panos) research focus for the last few years,
b) on participation and co-design and the formal study of collaboration which is the expertise of Stéphane, Françoise and Michael, and
c) on translating data in various ways (visualisation, physicalisation) which is the expertise of Samuel,
d) beyond Télécom Paris, we look forward to collaborate with several colleagues from a spatial cognition and participation backgrounds.
The project also builds on the ‘Architectural Cognition in Practice’ research project at FCL Global (Singapore – Zurich) where I am involved in the last few years.
Grounded in a territory.
This project is fundamentally about participation. Hence, we will also seek to establish dialogue and partnerships with the different communities of the Plateau de Saclay – rural, residential and scientific.
The project will begin in early 2024. Stay tuned and get in touch.
